CELEBRATING 100 YEARS

A group of nine women and two honourary male members, with varied interests and careers and with a shared passion to celebrate and share their Finnish heritage, worked together diligently to bring a unique summer celebration to Bay Street, Thunder Bay, Ontario in the summer of 2010.  The Finnish Labour Temple/Finlandia Club of Port Arthur 100th Anniversary Celebration was a huge success!  One thousand people gathered on that July day/night 2010 to listen to amazing entertainment, dance under the stars and enjoy the great food and drink.
The 100th Anniversary celebration not only celebrated the longevity of the Finnish Labour Temple/Finlandia Club building, but also the endurance and perseverance (sisu) of the people who kept it running for the past one hundred years. Thank you to all the men and women past and present who in some way connected with the building. Thank you to all the performers and volunteers past and present who have worked so hard and given so much.  2010 marks the end of an era.

"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results."
